There are thousands of online options for promoting your business online. Needless to say, we simply can't put each and every one of them here. So, we've chosen a few of the more common options and provided a brief introduction to each...

Search Engines
This one is a natural front-runner on our list. You will get more details on the next page for how to effectively get your website listed and why you should get listed.

Free Classified Sites
Free online classified ad sites are probably one of the best choices for TESTING your ads. However, they can (probably WILL) produce a lot of junk email since many of them are nothing more than enhanced FFA (Free For All Links) sites.

Simply run a search on Google (or your Search Engine of choice) for the keywords "free online classified ad sites" and you'll have thousands of options to choose from. There are also several classified ad submission tools available online if you prefer to use them to get your ad out there. They can save you a lot of time.

FFA Sites
In the early days of online marketing FFA (Free For All Links) sites used to produce some powerful results - both in responses to the short ads you posted, AND in increased Search Engine rankings. This is no longer the case for the majority of FFA websites out there. Even owning one (yes, you can usually own your own FFA for low or no cost at all) is no longer the powerful tool it used to be because it can also result in PLENTY of SPAM complaints/trouble.

Posting to the major FFA sites is generally a waste of time since your post can end up being removed within hours (sometimes minutes) of posting it owing to the MASSIVE amounts of posts most FFA sites receive from FFA blasting software tools.

So why mention FFA sites here? Well, some are still kind of effective... in a way. The smaller niche oriented FFAs which aren't in the major FFA blaster directories (hard to find, but worth it when you find them) often keep your short ad on their page for quite a long time... and believe it or not, they usually get viewed - and clicked on. It's FREE so, why not?

Make sure you use a free email account (see above tip) for posting.

Community Forums
Here's where having a GOOD SIG TAG can really grow your business. Some people will tell you to avoid community forums altogether because they are a HUGE waste of time and can get you into SPAM trouble. YES, they can, but only IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING!

Press Releases
Just as there are offline newspapers that accept press releases (and may or may not print your story) there are also online news centers which can/will print your press release. If you're great at writing press releases, here's a link you want to check out:

Article Syndication Services
If you're a good writer, writing articles for publication by online ezine (newsletter) owners and other websites is a great way to gain exposure and free prospects for your business!

IMPORTANT NOTE: only write for syndication outlets that permit you to include an author's byline. The author's byline generally tells a bit of information about yourself and why you are an expert in the area of the article you've written - PLUS you can INCLUDE a link to your website. Some online syndication services even have personal bio pages for some of their preferred authors (or have a paid option for same).

Start Page Exchanges
Not very effective, but still - they're free - so why not? If you spend a lot of time online these exchanges can result in extra exposure for you ...just don't expect too many results, okay?

Paid And/Or Premium Classified Ad Sites
Okay, you've tested your classified ad on some of the free options above and you know it's pulling in some prospects quite well. Now it's time to move on up to some paid classified advertising sites (and premium advertising sites). If it works - USE IT FOR ALL IT'S WORTH!

Pay-To-Read Email Services
Sometimes they work ...sometimes they don't... yet some of them are quite cost effective for testing out your solo ezine ads. Most of these programs have considerable tracking powers for the emails you send out through their service - including open rates and click-through rates - so they'll give you a pretty good idea if your ad is producing results.

Tip: Copywriting is probably the most difficult job you will have ...coming up with the right words that produce the desired results isn't easy. But with practice, developing your skills in this area can pay off in very BIG ways!

EZine Advertising
Ezines are online newsletters many of which have ad space available for sale. Here's the basic types of ezine ad options offered by most editors/ezine owners:

• Top Sponsor Ad (high cost),
• Middle Sponsor Add (low cost),
• Bottom Sponsor Ad (medium to high cost),
• Solo Ads (highest cost).

You may want to check with your upline sponsor to find out if anyone on your Team has effective banners already created (and approved for use) before going through the expense of creating your own or paying someone to create one for you.
