What Do I Say? ...Ideas For Great Ice Breakers

Plenty of scripts are available for you ...for almost every occasion... in the Scripts Section of the Simple As ABC Training Center. Make sure you take full advantage of them. Now, for meeting new people ...let's work on the "greeting" part of the Invitation Phase. Let's have some fun with "ice breakers."

Picture your co-worker coming back from vacation... maybe it was a trip to Australia... and he or she says:

"Man! I sure wish I had the time and money to stay there a month! One week is just too short!"

What do you do/say?

Don't feel bad if all you could do was stutter and stammer and not even tell him/her about the great PLAN you hold in your hands for being able to do just that... ...work where and when you want to work...

When we're new in the business of Network Marketing, we usually miss a LOT of golden opportunities like the one above. And that's okay... it's the reason we're here now, to work on some quick and fun ice breakers so you can take advantage of the many golden opportunities that can and will come your way during the course of your business.

So... let's "brainstorm" a few ideas of what we could have said in the above example:

  • "Yes! I know exactly how you feel and that's why I decided to do something about it. I found the perfect plan to get me ...in about 2 or 3 years... to where I'll be able to go back to        (your favorite vacation spot)        and stay as long as I want! Want to see it?"
  • "Well Fred (replace with his/her real name), I might have the answer to how you can do that. Are you interested?"
  • "If you have 2 minutes, I can show you how you can take all the time you want for your next vacation."
  • "There's a way you can take all the time you want for your next trip ...and not even worry about the boss. Want to know more?"

The greatest Network Marketers we know are those who LISTEN well. Yes, you heard that right... listeners go further than most anyone else over the LONG haul.

Why do we mention this here in the "What Do I Say?" section of our Training Center? Because, the best ice breakers are those that open people up and get them talking about themselves...

Great Ice Breakers

"What do you do for a living?"

90% of the time the above question is asked, most people will warm up to talking to you. All you need to do is "listen" ...generally speaking, when they are done, they always turn the question back to you.

That's where your "1 minute story" comes in...

If you've reviewed the section on Sig Tags in "Online Marketing" there is a sig tag mentioned that is a good example of the "1 minute story."

"I show housewives how to make more money part-time than their
husbands do full time! Would you like to know more about it?"

The above is just one example of an effective "1 minute story" approach as a follow-up to your ice breaker. Here's a few more ideas to get your own creative juices flowing:

"I'm working full time for my job and I've got this little part time thing
I'm working on for my fortune. Want to hear about it?"

(This one is a Jim Rohn classic, by the way.)

This one is pretty generic:
"I teach people how to build their own part time home business. Have you ever thought of building your own?"

And this example is pretty specific to AmeriPlan®:
"I help people save thousands of dollars a year on their dental, drug, and eye care costs and how they can save thousands more per year on taxes. Would you like to know more?"

If you work really hard developing a powerful "1 minute story" you will never be at a loss for words to say when golden opportunities come your way.

Needless to say, anyone and everyone who says YES to the above questions are perfect to invite to your presentation. Send them to your website and tell them to review the "Creating Millionaires" movie... and make sure you schedule a time to follow up with them.

Let's move on to more methods for "stuffing your funnel" so you can have an unlimited supply of prospects to invite to your presentation...
